Linotype Tape-Control Systems

While the Mergenthaler Linotype Company implemented features on its machines in support of the Teletypesetter (TTS), eventually it introduced its own competing system: the Linomatic Tape System, or LTS. As Mergenthaler moved into photocomposition, they created tape machines which could control both hot metal Linotypes and their phototypesetting systems (the Linoquick Perforator, for example). See also the Tape-Control Cross Reference.
