These are photographs of a Rouse Type Mortiser in use at the Skyline Type Foundry in 2009. Thanks are due to Schuyler Shipley of Skyline Type Foundry for permission to photograph this machine. Sky casts beautiful type which is well worth your consideration.
This is the presumably earlier version of the machine (fixed cutter / moving vise). See the Notebook on Models for further discussion.
The Rouse is a great little machine, but these are not great photographs of it. They're simply snapshots I took of the machine, with the camera set on "full auto." Any infelicities in the photographs or their editing is entirely my fault.
Because I wish to keep all of linking images on this site in the public domain, I (the photograper) dedicate the version of the Rouse Type Mortiser photograph used as a page icon and linking image to the public domain.
