1. Terminal Windows

Both the mlterm and the xterm terminal programs display Unicode/UTF-8 in modern Linux. mlterm can be slightly easier to configure for language matters.

However, some systems (e.g., Knoppix 5) do not enable Unicode/UTF-8 by default. Use the "-u8" paramter on xterm to overcome this.

mlterm notes:

mlterm -R 24-24 &

The mlterm config window is opened by: ctrl-rightmouseclick It allows easy setting of font size.

Select Resolution: 0 [other resolutions temporarily disabled due to lack of disk space]
