From: Reed, Talbot Baines A History of the Old English Letter Foundries (London: Eliot Stock, 1887.) p. 289. This shows the "Engrossing" or "Base Secretary" type cut by Cottrell. It isn't really representative of the typefaces later associated with the Fann Street Foundry, but I'm using it here as a title images out of respect to Cottrell (and also because I can't find anything better right now).
