Introduction

This is a reprint, in the form of scanned images, of extracts from US Air Force Manual 95-1, Basic Photography, of 15 September 1959. It contains those sections which deal primarily with light and optics, and omits those which deal primarily with chemistry and film. Since the writers of this manual never envisioned photography without chemistry, this division is not always sharp.
