Introduction

This is a reprint, in the form of scanned images, of US National Bureau of Standards (NBS) Circular 533, Method for Determining the Resolving Power of Photographic Lenses (May 20, 1953), by Francis E. Washer, and Irvine C. Gardner. It does not include the test charts intended for use with this Circular (they were not present in the copy scanned). However, images of these test charts do accompany the reprint of NBS Special Publication 374 (1973) in this Library of Antiquarian Technology.
