This is a digital Reprint of Turning and Mechanical Manipulation by Charles Holtzapffel and John Jacob Holtzapffel II. "Holtzapffel" is the central, essential, work in English on Ornamental Turning. Given its scope and depth, however, it is also arguably the most important work on machine shop practice in the 19th century.
The Holtzapffels' work has been reprinted several times, and at present (2004) all five volumes are in print in conventional paper facsimile versions. This online/digital Reprint is intended to complement, not to replace, these paper reprints. A serious Ornamental Turning enthusiast will want both forms.
This digital Reprint may - and should - be copied. Please, though, read Copying this Reprint in the Information About this Reprint section before you do.
