From The Boy Mechanic (1913)
Three Model Stationary Reciprocating Steam Engines

Contents

Introduction

This is a reprint, in the form of scanned images, of three articles on making model reciprocating steam engines which appeared in Windsor, H. H., Ed. The Boy Mechanic. Chicago: Popular Mechanics Press, 1913.

Please note that these articles are from 1913, when current standards for machine safety and the protection of children were not in existence. They are reprinted here for their historical interest only, NOT as workshop projects. Note in particular that the boiler described in the second project is not safe and should never be built. This is, let me emphasize once again, historical material.
