Goudy made his Working Pattern blanks (he calls them "tablets") out of typemetal cast by him in a stereotype casting box. [1] He cast them to be "about 3 1/2 inches [high] by 4 1/2 inches [wide] by 1/8 inch [thick]" ( Typologia , 98).
